The biggest issue many face when managing their personal finances is overspending, Overspending can increase a person debt, decrease their credit, and leave them with no money at the end of month. Let's discuss 3 Tips to Stop Overspending!

In order to make an immediate change in your spending habits you need to be aware of where your money is going through effective Budgeting. I know I harp on budgeting a lot but that is because they work! ​

Budgets help you to plan out your money on a monthly basis. Don't you want to:
  1. Know where you are spending your money?
  2. Identify gaps in your spending habits where you can save money?
  3. Break the paycheck to paycheck cycle?

This leads right into my second tip Track Your Spending. I know it can be hard to face your spending habits especially when you aren't ready to make a significant change but tracking brings even more awareness to the situation and if you are ready, then you need to ensure that your spending habits are in-line with your newly created budget.

​There are tons of free options to help you track your spending such as your banking app. Most banks include alert features that let you know when a purchase is made over a certain amount or at a gas station or online. Use these free alerts to help you become more aware and stop any fraud early. Additionally. apps like mint offer free budgeting and spending track all in one place. The app is handy on keeping you alert on your spending without having to login to your banking apps everyday. However, mint should not be your only resource when it comes to budgeting.
