Recently, I made a post on social media and stated that I would inform y'all on how I created this look. Well here we go...

Items that will be needed in order to create this look:
  • Q-Redew aka a Hair Steamer
  • Distilled water
  • Wide tooth comb
  • Hair Scissors (it was time for a trim)
  • A few hair Clips
  • Hair Butter
    • Camille Rose Butter
    • The Mane Choice Butter
  • Oil - Coconut Oil
"Everyone's hair is different and beautiful...so love your hair instead of trying to change it."
                                                 - Kalai

Let the fun begin! Ok so the detangling isn't really fun but to each their own. I actually watched HGTV while I detangled my hair with the Q-Redew Hair Steamer.

The hair steamer will be used to help detangle and stretch your hair. I recently went to the beach and didn't have a chance to thoroughly detangle mine; so this is how I cheat *wink, wink*. Also, the steamer works best with distilled water which is only about a dollar at your local grocery store.

Side Note: I type like I am holding a conversation with you.

Steps

  • Section hair into 4 or 6 sections.
  • Follow instruction to get the Q-Redew ready

Each section will need to be divided in 3 to 4 more sections. The smaller the piece the easier it will be to detangle. (Be careful because it gets hot!)
  •  If you are trimming your ends yourself, I suggest youtube or consulting a
  •        professional.
  • Twist up each section as you go adding a small butter of your choice. (Sometimes combining 2 smaller sections into one new one.) By the time you       finish you should have anywhere between 6 to 8 two strand twist.  Personally,       I had about 9 but my hair is long and I like thick twist. Once you finish you         arms are probably dead weight but your almost done.
  • Hopefully you can braid....you will need to braid your sectioned hair into 2            braids and sleep on it. For the best results, I suggest pinning the back to              strands up and wear it as a style for a day or two in order to ensure that it is        completely dry.
  • When the time comes, apply the oil of your choice to your hands and gently          spread it amongst your hair. Now it's time to start taking down your hair! Do         not separate it to much or it will not last as long.

This style can last anywhere from 3 to 6 days if you are careful. At night, I placed my hair in 4 bantu knots in order to maintain the curl.

I plan on making a video the next time I do this style but if you give it a try be sure to let me know if it works for you!

Ariel,

Haha I'm sure you would have nice waves !

Yes, my hair was stretched with the use of the Q-Redew aka a Hair Steamer (link in post) but if you aren't ready to spend $71 bucks (I waited for like 2 years lol) then there is a no cost way to do it.

- Twist your hair like you are doing a normal twist out. Take it down and rock it!
- Wear the twist out for a few days then use a spray bottle to lightly damp you hair (I mean super lightly!) and gently comb your hair out. This stretches out the hair a lot and gives you a little bit more to work with...then follow the rest of the steps in this post to create your own Deep Waves.

Thanks for your comment! I will be sure to make a more detailed post about how I do the no cost way maybe I'll make a video.

Thanks,
Kalai
