Tramway, Hiking, Snow, and More Snow!

A great friend and sorority sister invited me to come out to ABQ (I will use ABQ b/c Albuquerque is not easy to spell lol) and what am I to say, other than sure let me book a flight! I want to start off by saying that all I knew of ABQ was that it was near a desert! So imagine my surprise when I call Michelle to ask what to pack and she then says well we are going hiking, skiing/ snowboarding, and out to an improv show. My immediate thought is 'Wait it snows there?', well then new plan! After packing my bag for 5 nights and 4 days I was off to ABQ.

ABQ is beautiful and if you ever get the chance to go out to New Mexico, GO! The people are nice and there is clearly a New Mexico culture. Rather than Tex-Mex dishes it was a lot of New Mexico this and New Mexico that...This post will not be long as it is just to treasure the moment with pictures!

Look at the beautiful snow! Out in the sun it was so nice but the moment you stepped into the shade it was freezing.

Snowboarding in Santa Fe means More Snow!

This was by far one of the most amazing days of my life! We drove up a never ending moutain before we finally made it to the top and then had to carry our gear (walking in snowboarding shoes is almost impossible - feels like 10 pounds on each leg). So then we had to figure out how to get the board on our feet (funniest moment ever as I was doing it all wrong).

Finally after the gear was on I stood up and immediately started moving...my only thought is 'Oh no! How do I stop? I am going to fall.' So yes I did fall and it was not as painful as one wold think. Michelle was moving down the baby slope like a pro while I was arms everywhere!

After about the fourth time I was like 'oh yeah this is fun. Let me try to go a little higher and stop at the bottom.', well that was a mistake because I never mastered the art of stopping...I did however master the art of falling. There is no footage of this horrifc fall that bruised my tail bone but I do have footage of about my third attempt down the mountain. The only video from this day is located on my instagram account.

I hope that you all enjoyed and that you remember to live your life the best way that you can and not for others.
