What's a bantu knot

The beauty of Bantu Knots! They are said to have originated in Africa from the Zulu tribe. Over the years many have rocked the look all over the world.

Personally, I have rocked Bantu Knots as a style (example to the right #flashback). The uses are vast:
  1. A style
  2. Prep work for Spiral Curls
  3. A way to maintain straight hair
We shall be discussing style number two during this post.

First lets discuss some key tools:

  • Wide tooth comb
  • Small tooth comb
  • A butter of your choice (I used Camille Rose - Almond Jai Twisting Butter)
  • Oil of your choice (Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco which is offered at several locations but I purchased mine at Walgreens.)
  • Bobby Pins in case you need to pin the ends down

The fun part

The hair will need to be sectioned and lathered in the butter then oil of your choice. Once this is finish begin two-strand twisting your hair and then wrap it around into a knot. The hair will need to be completely dry in order for the style to come out properly.

Take-down

Before taking down your hair...you need to first ensure that you lather your hands in your oil of choice. Then begin taking down you hair.

Here are some pictures of the final result!

My goal for 2018 is to start making videos...soooo look for one coming soon.
